Located in the heart of LA’s Chinatown neighborhood, this project seeks to reinvent the typical apartment block. The project massing is punctuated by varied outdoor amenity spaces - ranging from a public facing amphitheater & community event space to terraced residential amenities such as pool deck, outdoor bar and a more private residential courtyard. Each area is distinguished with a distinct material and landscape palette.

The most private layer of open space is created by a metal mesh screen which envelopes the buildings to create private balconies. The mesh wrapper adds texture and depth to the façade while also disguising the typical massing of a type III over concrete podium building.
